Warmia-Masuria is an ideal place to combine the assets of history, culture and tourism in order to promote Polish diplomacy and international cooperation. Despite being united in one voivodeship, Warmia and Masuria are two very different lands. Masuria is a geographic and cultural region covering the Masurian Lake District from the east and the Iława Lake District from the west. These territories never belonged to the Polish state before 1945, although their inhabitants (Masurians) spoke a Polish dialect brought by their ancestors, settlers from Mazovia among others. The inhabitants of Masuria were Protestants. Masuria is inseparably associated with nature, lakes and active leisure — and much more besides.
To that end, the Academy of European Careers has already established cooperation with, among others, the Polish Tourist Organisation, the University of Warmia and Mazury, the Centre for Eastern Studies and the Wojciech Kętrzyński Northern Institute.
Olsztyn has seven higher education institutions, including the University of Warmia and Mazury, as well as research institutes such as the Centre for Eastern Studies and the Wojciech Kętrzyński Northern Institute.
The largest museum institution in Olsztyn today is the Museum of Warmia and Mazury, housed in the Castle of the Warmian Chapter, with a permanent Copernicus exhibition among its collections.
